CHRIS FORRESTER struck in injury time to secure a 1-1 draw for Bohemians against Bray Wanderers at Dalymount Park.  John Mulroy smashed in the opener for Bray just after the interval, but substitute Forrester had the final say as his long-range strike ensured the points were shared.  The Seagulls defended superbly when put under pressure by Bohs, although keeper Matt Gregg had every few shots on target to deal with as the hosts struggled to create chances.  It was not as though the Gypsies did not take a positive approach, they were simply missing that cutting edge that saw them overcome Bray on the opening game of the season.  Stephen Traynor showed glimpses of his technical ability as he linked up well with Gary Burke, although their swift exchange of passes never really led to anything.  Bohs were clearly missing striker Chris Fagan, who is still sidelined with a hamstring injury, but the signs are there for Pat Fenlon that his team are not far from getting it right.  Following an opening half hour of little action, Bray almost took the lead on 41 minutes when Mulroy rounded keeper Chris O’Connor but Ollie Cahill was there to clear the danger.  After the interval, Mulroy was presented with his second scoring chance of the game and he did not waste it. After O’Connor parried a shot from Jake Kelly, the winger was in the right place to fire in.  That goal stirred Bohs into stepping up the tempo with Killian Brennan trying his luck with a free-kick before Robert Bayly struck the crossbar with an effort from distance.  Anthony Flood also had an effort hit the woodwork before Chris Shields cleared an effort by him off the line, but Forrester then popped up with the all-important goal.  Bohemians: O’Connor; Heary, Price, Burns, Cahill (Forrester 70); Brennan, Bayly, O’Brien, Burke (Fowler 86); Traynor, Flood.  Bray Wanderers: Gregg; Webster, Mitchell, Prendergast, Massey; Mulroy (Zambra 72), Dempsey, O’Connor, J Kelly; Shields, Murphy (O’Neill 75).  Referee: D Hancock (Dublin). |
