Glen Crowe and Gary O'Neill scored two each as Sporting Fingal swept to a 4-1 victory over UCD at Morton Stadium to end their season on a high.  Liam Buckley's team raced into an early lead as they were 2-0 up inside the opening five minutes to leave The Students shellshocked at Morton Stadium.  Crowe broke the deadlock when he rose highest in the opposition's penalty area to meet Conan Byrne's corner and power a header into the back of the net.  It was then O'Neill's turn to get on the scoresheet when Byrne and Ronan Finn linked up well to supply a cross for the frontman to head in past UCD keeper Billy Brennan.  With everything clicking for them, The Ravens went further ahead as Finn's pull-back was converted by the lurking O'Neill, who got his second of the game.  UCD attempted to fight their way back into the game when Paul Corry's corner was met by Evan McMillan and the ball dropped to Michael Leahy to fire in from close range.  But it wasn't to be for Martin Russell's side as Crowe got his second goal when Byrne crossed for Alan Kirby, who laid the ball off for Crowe to finish with an excellent strike.  Sporting Fingal: Clarke; Browne, Hawkins, Williams, Fitzgerald; Byrne, McFaul, Finn, Kirby (Quinn 89); O'Neill, Crowe.  Substitutes Not Used: Quigley, Gannon, Frost, Zayed.  UCD: Brennan; Harding, Leahy, E McMillan, Shortall; Bolger (Rusk 46), Creevy, Corry, Mulhall; D McMillan, Kilduff.  Substitutes Not Used: Barron, Boyle, O'Conor.  Referee: A Buttimer (Cork). |
