Inspired by a  brilliant second half hat-trick from striker Ciaran Kilduff, UCD  ended their  four match run of defeats with a deserved victory over bottom of the table Bray Wanderers in a one-sided  Premier Division clash at the Belfield Bowl.
College threatened early on when a Dwayne Wilson cross from the right allowed Ciaran Kilduff to get in a shot spilled  by 'keeper Brian Kane. From the rebound Keith Ward shot straight at Kane.
The Seagulls went close when a defence splitting pass by David Webster beat defender Ciaran Nangle with Shane O'Neill's resulting shot brilliantly pushed over the bar by 'keeper Ger Barron.
Kilduff then had a header well saved by Kane after a curling cross from the left by Graham Rusk. The UCD striker was again denied by Kane when he pushed out another effort with defender Shane O'Connor completing the clearance.
The Students eventually got their noses in front on 51 minutes when a long rnage effort from Paul O'O'Connor was pushed onto the bar by Kane. The ball rebounded perfectly for Kilduff to head home from close range.
Kilduff stretched College's lead three minutes later when a McMillan cross from the right was spilled by Kane and the big striker was able to fire home from close range.
It was all one way traffic in the direction of the visitors' goal and a clever ball from midfield by Robbie Creevy allowed Kilduff to sprint clear of the Bray defence and plant the ball firmly past Kane for his hat-trick on 71 minutes.
The Students piled on further agony when five minutes later a Wilson cross from the right enabled Kilduff to play a neat exchance of passes with substitute Greg Bolger and allow the midfielder to rifle home from eight yards.
There was drama in the last minute when Bolger and Bray midfielder Chris Shields were shown red cards by Clare referee Padraig Sutton after a midfield flare-up.
