UCD 1-0 Bray Wanderers

Ciaran Kilduff was the hero for UCD as they claimed a 1-0 victory over Bray Wanderers at the UCD Bowl on Friday evening.

The Students came into this game following defeats to Bohemians and St Patrick's Athletic, although they didn't look low on confidence as they played their attractive brand of football from start to finish.

However, it was the visitors who registered the first attempt on goal when striker Robbie Doyle's header forced UCD keeper Billy Brennan into an early save.

Youngster Jake Kelly then rattled the side netting with a powerful shot just when it appeared that he was about to break the deadlock.

The hosts roared into action after that with Greg Bolger, Graham Rusk and Robbie Creevy all coming close before Kilduff eventually got the opening goal.

The former Shamrock Rovers trainee made no mistake with a well-hit volley to bring his tally for the season up to three goals.

That goal proved to be enough for Martin Russell's team to collect all three points and finally get their first Premier Division win of the new season.
