Sporting Fingal picked-up their first win of the new season when they overcame Bray Wanderers 3-1 at the Carlisle Grounds. Defeated by Bohemians and held to a draw by Sligo Rovers, Liam Buckley’s side went into this game chasing their first three points of the new campaign. Two goals from Gary O’Neill and one from Eamon Zayed were enough to give Fingal their first win. However, Bray Wanderers have now suffered three consecutive defeats and are still searching for their first points of the season. Zayed opened the scoring for the visitors on 15 minutes. Ger O’Brien passed to Zayed, who turned on the edge of the box and fired past Brian Kane into the net. The visitors had to wait until the 52nd minute to double their lead. Conan Byrne crossed for Gary O’Neill, whose close range effort gave Kane no chance. The home side had a lifeline with 15 minutes to go when Shane O’Neill’s long range effort made it 2-1. However, any chance of a comeback was killed off on 81 minutes when O’Neill finished from close range to make the score 3-1. Bray Wanderers: Brian Kane; Daire Doyle, Shane O'Connor, Colm Tresson, Philip Knight; Richie Baker, James Kavanagh, Chris Shields, David Tyrrell (David O'Neill 63 mins); Robbie Doyle (Juan Pablo Rodriguez 62 mins), Shane O'Neill.
