New Dundalk manager Ian Foster got off to a winning start in the 2010 Airtricity League season, although he had to wait until the 90th minute for his side to seal the points at the Carlisle Grounds against a determined Bray Wanderers.

Garry Breen headed home in the final minute of the match to give the Lilywhites three points. However, it was somewhat harsh on a Bray side who dominated for large periods and were unfortunate to find Dundalk goalkeeper Peter Cherrie in fine form.

Cherrie silenced the home support after just three minutes when he saved Shane O’Neill’s penalty. O’Neill took the spot kick after being brought down in the penalty area by Liam Burns.

Moments later the home side carved out another opportunity, only for Shane O’Connor to head Jake Kelly’s corner kick against the post.

A fast-paced encounter would have satisfied all in attendance, with Richie Baker, Neale Fenn and Fahrudin Kudozovic all creating chances.

However, it was Breen who settled affairs with his late, late header giving Dundalk and Ian Foster the perfect start to 2010.
