Title rivals Bohemians and Derry City had to settle for a share of the points at Dalymount Park after the Gypsies fought back to claim a draw. It was the first time the sides had met since last November's thrilling FAI Ford Cup Final, and it was Derry City who took the advantage when Thomas Stewart put them in front after just eight minutes. The ex-Linfield man struck from the edge of the penalty area to give the Candystripes the lead. However, the lead was short lived. With 15 minutes on the clock, Killian Brennan's free kick flew past Doherty and into the Derry City net to restore parity. Bohemians: B Murphy; A Murphy, Heary, McGuiness, Rossiter (Oman 28), Ndo, Keegan, Deegan, Brennan (Carey 68), Crowe, Fenn (J Byrne 85). Subs - Gregg, Powell. Derry City: Doherty; O'Brien, Hutton, McChrystal, Gray, McGlynn, Molloy, Higgins (Martyn 80), Kearney (McClean 87), Farren (McCallion 92), Stewart. Subs - Jennings, Scullion. Referee: I Stokes (Dublin). |
