A frantic finish at The Showgrounds saw Sligo Rovers draw 1-1 with Cork City. These two sides had gone head-to-head in the battle for a European spot last season, with Sligo Rovers narrowly winning the race.

However, there was nothing to divide them this time around. Scoreless after 86 minutes, the game appeared to be heading for deadlock.

That seemed to have been broken on 86 minutes when Pat Sullivan crossed for Billy Dennehy to fire home to give the visitors the lead.

The Bit O' Red never gave up, however, and new signing Stephen Parkhouse levelled matters with one minute to go when he controlled Romuald Boco's cross and finished beautifully.
