Raffaele Cretaro put the visitors ahead on 27 minutes to continue his fine run of goalscoring form.

However, the home side were level on 33 minutes through McGowan and a Chris Turner penalty kick on 48 minutes saw advantage swing in favour of the Oriel Park outfit.

The first of a remarkable three red cards for Dundalk came on 50 minutes when McKinlay was dismissed, followed 8 minutes later by Chris Turner.

Alan Keane levelled the score from the penalty spot on 59 minutes. Despite their numerical advantage, Paul Cook's side could not get the winning goal.

There was further controversy, however, when Dundalk were reduced to 8 men on 67 minutes when Thomas Heary was given his marching orders.

Somehow the Lilywhites held on to keep the score at 2-2.
