KEN OMAN'S headed goal just before half-time and a Kevin Long own goal took the champions Bohemians back to the top of the Premier Division overnight after a third win of the season over Cork City at Turner's Cross. Bohs go one point ahead of Shamrock Rovers who are in action tonight with a home game against Drogheda United at Tallaght Stadium. Pat Fenlon's side outplayed the home team to such an extent that they could easily have been two or even three goals up at the break. Cork made three changes from the team that lost 3-2 to Bray with Mark McNulty in for Dan Connor, Neal Horgan at right-back for the suspended Danny Murphy and Stephen O'Donnell back from suspension for Shane Duggan. Bohs had Anto Murphy in for skipper Owen Heary (injured) and Glen Crowe started in attack for suspended top scorer Jason Byrne. Bohs dominated the opening exchanges and pinned City back in their own half for much of the first half. Greg O'Halloran took Killian Brennan's free from the right off the line on 13 minutes and then Glen Crowe went close mid-way through when he swiveleld on Joseph Ndo's pass and fired just wide of the far post. Bohs controlled the football and while goal chances were few and far between Cork had to repy on sporadic forays into the opposition's half. Billy Dennehy got into the box but a superbly timed slide tackle by Anto Murphy stopped him in his tracks. Greg O'Halloran did likewise on the half hour when he robbed the ball from Brian Shelley but Brian Murphy dashed off his line to make the save. Bohs had two penalty claims inside a minute when Long eased Crowe off the ball inside the box and then when Glenn Cronin appeated to take a tumble under O'Halloran's challenge just before half-time. But the breakthrough arrived on 38 minutes when Ken Oman headed home Paul Keegan's pinpoint cross and there was an air of inevitability about the goal. Crowe should have made it 2-0 as the Bohs outplayed the home team when he headed Brennan's 42nd minute cross just wide with McNulty beaten again. But the champions did score again after 59 minutes when Silagailis lost the ball to Oman just outside the Bohs' box. He fed Brennan down the right flank and his cross into the box was turned into his own net by the unfortunate Kevin Long.
