| Alan McNally on his way to Drogheda |
|
The news today from the Drogheda United training facility at Mosney county Meath is that Alan McNally has left UCD to join Drogheda United for the coming season. Information from UCD Website: Made his debut in Tolka Park away to Shelbourne in the 1999/2000 season, and came on as a sub in UCD's 5-0 win in Drogheda on the last day of that campaign, a result which secured European football for UCD. Although Alan didn't play either InterToto game, he made himself a fixture in the first-team in 2001/2, scoring a number of important goals, including winners in Tolka Park and Turner's Cross. Has been linked with moves to Cork City and Drogheda United in recent seasons, but has stayed on at Belfield, and his defensive partnership with Conor Kenna certainly ranks up with the league's best. Has moved back into centre-mid this season to fill the gap left by Tony McDonnell. |
