Derry City got back to winning ways with a 4-0 thrashing of Sligo Rovers in a one-sided game at The Showgrounds.

 

Winger David Scullion opened the scoring when he managed to slip away from his marker and get into a good position to meet Steven Gray's cross.

 

Ten minutes after that The Candystripes were celebrating another when Scullion turned provider for captain Peter Hutton, who made no mistake from only a few yards out.

 

Sligo responded by creating some chances of their own with Rafael Cretaro, Eoin Doyle, and Owen Morrison all coming close for Paul Cook's side.

 

However, there was little the hosts could do to stop the Derry train from steaming further ahead with Mark Farren coming off the bench to score twice.

 

Last year's golden boot winner chipped keeper Richard Brush for his first goal and blasted in his second to seal a 4-0 win.
