Bray Wanderers picked up a vital away point as they held Dundalk to a 0-0 draw at Oriel Park.  It was a tough match for The Seagulls and they were lucky not to have conceded inside the opening two minutes when Chris Turner fired a shot over when he should have at least hit the target.  Dave Webster did try to swing things around in favour of the visitors when he attempted to pile drive a 30-yard free-kick into the back of the net, but watched as it sailed wide.  Dundalk kept pressing for the goal that would break the deadlock and they thought that it arrived when Alex Williams fired in, although his effort was ruled offside.  The pressure stayed on the Bray goal though with Tiaran Mulvenna striking the crossbar, Williams coming close again, and Paul McAreavey unlucky not to have scored.  Gary McCabe could have sneaked a win for the visitors when he set off on a dazzling run, but his final shot was not accurate enough. Nevertheless, Bray will be happy to take a point from this game.  Dundalk: Cherrie; Coburn, Burns, Kelly, McGowan; Daly (Collins 56), Turner, McAreavey, Mulvenna (McKinlay 77); Mansaram; Williams.  Substitutes Not Used: Heary, Creaney, Bennion  Bray Wanderers: O'Connor; Doyle, Webster, Deans, Pender; Coughlan (Massey 56), Mulcahy, Shields, McCabe; Flood (McNeill 75), O'Neill (Mulroy 56).  Substitutes Not Used: O'Neill, Kane.  Referee: Tom Connolly |
