| Kavanagh inspires Wanders to victory |
|
The Seagulls got their season off to a flier at Kilternan. They ran out comprehensive winners against a strong Shelbourne side by 3 goals to 1. Wanderers led 1-0 at half time when Paddy Kavanagh fired them into a deserved lead on 40 minutes. Both sides made a number of substitutions at half time and on 49 minutes they doubled their lead through debutant Darren Forsyth. Then in the 58th minute another new face Fernando scored from 10 yards. Shels were awarded a penalty in the 76th minute which was duly converted by Jordan McMullan. Overall the performance was very satisfactory and the squad assembled by Manager Eddie Gormley and his backroon staff gives us all hope of another good season. |
