| Kenny confident of Brandywell roar |
Derry City boss Stephen Kenny is delighted to have secured a home fixture on the opening night of the season and he believes the Candystripe fans will be out in force for the visit of Drogheda United on March 6th. Kenny said that there is a huge buzz around the city in relation to the restarting of the League of Ireland and he is confident that a large crowd will be in the Brandywell Stadium on March 6th. “It’s a tough start – we open the season at home but then we are in Dublin to face Bohemians, St. Patrick’s Athletic and Shamrock Rovers in the opening six weeks", he said. "We’re just looking forward to the start of the season. We were away on the opening night of 2008 so it’s nice to be at home this time around. Season ticket sales have gone very well and there is a real sense of anticipation around the city, so we’re looking forward to getting the season underway.” |
