Dundalk ended their recent poor run of form with a convincing 3-0 win over Bray Wanderers at Oriel Park. The Lilywhites had lost three on the trot heading into this fixture and needed to get points on the board against a Bray side who shared their place in the relegation play-off zone. The home side got off to the perfect start when Chris Turner put them ahead in the first minute. The attacker volleyed from the edge of the penalty area to give the home fans something to cheer about early on. The lead was doubled on 26 minutes when Ger Rowe scored his first goal for the club. The Lilywhites were now in control and Bray failed to create any chances of note. Tiernan Mulvenna made it 3-0 on 56 minutes when he took advantage of a series of defensive errors to tap home from close range. Dundalk: Bennion, Synnott, Kelly, Heary, Burns, Turner, Kelly, Daly, Mulvenna, Rowe, Mansaram Bray Wanderers: O'Connor, Webster, Massey, Foran, Doyle, Sheilds, McCabe, Coughlan, Brennan, Kelly, Forsyth |
