Dundalk 0-1 St. Patrick's Athletic
Friday, 22 May 2009 12:24

St. Patrick's Athletic earned a much-needed win at Oriel Park as the Saints overcame Dundalk 1-0.

Mark Quigley's goal was enough to separate the sides and give Jeff Kenna's team a precious three points.

The win moves St. Pat's into sixth place in the league table, two points ahead of the Lilywhites.

Quigley struck on 33 minutes, lifting the ball over Chris Bennion.

The home side were reduced to ten men just before half-time when Dave Rogers was shown a red card.

Despite being down to ten men, Sean Connor's team really should have got something from this fixture, with Declan O'Brien and Darren Mansaram both hitting the woodwork and O'Brien having a penalty saved.
