 CRUSADERS raise the Setanta Sports Cup trophy after the 2012 final The Setanta Sports Cup is a cross-border competition involving clubs from the Airtricity League and the Northern Irish Carling Premiership. Established in 2005, the competition has grown to become an integral part of the football calendar on both sides of the border. Linfield claimed the trophy in 2005, with Drogheda United winning the competition in both 2006 and 2007. Cork City put their name on the Setanta Sports Cup trophy when they defeated Glentoran in the 2008 final. Bohemians won the cup in in the 2009-2010 campaign then Shamrock Rovers beat Dundalk in the 2011 final. Crusaders beat Derry City on penalties to claim the trophy for the first time in the 2012 final after a thrilling 2-2 draw.  Â
