Greystones 1 Shelbourne 3

There was to be no giant killing at the Carlisle Grounds despite Greystones giving Shelbourne a fright when taking a second minute lead.

The lead for the non-league side came from a quick counterattack when Luke Massey broke down the right to cross for John McClug to shoot past Dean Delaney.

Shels powered back to level on 29 minutes when defender Andy Boyle headed home David Cassidy’s free-kick.

Cassidy put Shels in front three mintues into the second half, rifling home the rebound after Greystones keeper John Blake failed to hold Lorcan Fitzgerald’s shot.

Winger Conan Byrne sealed it with the goal of the game 12 minutes later, crashing home Cassidy’s pass.
