TEENAGE striker Sean Brosnan hit a brace as Limerick ensured there was to be no miracle for Sacred Heart at Tallaght Stadium. Trailing 3-0 at the break, the Leinster Senior League side scored twice early in the second half to give Limerick a scare before Paudie Quinn added a late goal to see the First Division side through. Brosnan, 18, opened the scoring with a deflected shot on 22 minutes before adding a second with a header from Sean O’Connor’s corner on 40. O’Connor then collected Quinn’s clever pass to make it 3-0 before the break. Hearts battled back to punish Limerick complacency when fullback Anthony Weafer scored with a looping header from Darren Goode’s left wing cross three minutes into the second half. Midfielder Ian Lowry then got a second from captain Paul Caffrey’s pass nine minutes later to give the Tallaght side further hope. But they never really threatened again as Limerick regained their focus and got a fourth goal five minutes from time from Quinn
