Salthill Devon 1 Sheriff YC 2
Saturday, 04 June 2011 01:27

JOHN ROCK was the Sheriff hero with both goals as the Dublin non-league side stunned Paul McGee's Salthill at Drom.

Sheriff snatched the lead six minutes into the second half when Rock flicked home from a long throw taken by Stephen Murphy.

Rock was there again to add the second goal on 63 minutes when tapping home Willie Molloy's cross.

Paddy Quinlan pulled one back for Devon with a header from Gerry Dolan's 74th minutes corner, but the minnows held out for the biggest win in their history.
