EA Sports Cup: Shelbourne 4 Bohemians 2
Monday, 25 April 2011 21:24

Barry Clancy scored twice as First Division Shelbourne came from behind to beat Bohemians in the game of the night at Tolka Park.

Bohs' young side had the perfect start with the lead from their first attack inside the opening minute.

A cross from Rober Lopez found Robert Bayly whose shot deflected off David Lodola to beat Paul Skinner.

But Shels levelled on 14 minutes when skipper Stephen Paisley headed home Conan Byrne's corner.

Another Byrne corner brought Shels the lead a minute before the interval when Philly Hughes pounced to head home after Bohs keeper Chris O'Connor failed to gather.

Clancy then got his first goal of the night to make it 3-1 just before the hour from Hughes' assist.

Bohs hit back through Bayly seven minutes later when the midfielder collected a free-kick to work his way into the box to score.

Clancy sealed Shels passage, however, on 85 minutes when punishing a mistake by Liam Burns.
