Dundalk continue Setanta Sports Cup progress
Tuesday, 08 March 2011 15:08

DUNDALK produced another impressive performance in Belfast to take control of their Setanta Sports Cup quarter-final tie against Glentoran last night.

Mark Quigley’s impressive 82nd minute volley handed Ian Foster's side a 1-0 first leg over the Glens at The Oval - just weeks after the Lilywhites hit five past Linfield in the same city.

Quigley produced a stunning strike after a Daniel Kearns corner was only cleared to the edge of the box to seal the win.

Dundalk keeper Peter Cherrie a couple of important saves to help his side to victory. The second leg takes place on Monday, March 21.

With Portadown securing a 2-0 second leg victory over Bohemians in their first round tie last night the last eight line-up is now complete.

Cliftonville will meet Crusaders on Monday, March 14, with Lisburn Distillery hosting Shamrock Rovers the same evening. Portadown will host Sligo Rovers in the other quarter-final first leg on April 4.
