LIMERICK FC maintained their promotion push with a rout of struggling Wexford Youths at Jackman Park while Monaghan United held off Longford's challenge.

A brace of goals apiece from Jeffrey Judge and Denis Behan gave Limerick their biggest win of the season to maintain their promotion push as Wexford Youths suffered another heavy defeat.

Midfielder Judge fired Limerick ahead with a 25-yard drive on 20 and added another from distance nine minutes later.

As he did at Shelbourne last week, Paudie Quinn scored with a header - from Shane Tracy's corner - to make it 3-0 in the final minute of the first half.

Ten minutes into the second half an own goal from Karl Keogh increased Limerick's lead.

Behan then got his first from a penalty on the hour mark before scoring his second of the night from Quinn's cross five minutes from time.

Ryan Brennan scored a dramatic stoppage time winner as Monaghan came from behind to earn a massive three points at Gortakeegan.

In a rollercoaster of a game, Sean Brennan put Monghan ahead on eight minutes following a good bout of home pressure.

But Town levelled two minutes later from skipper Mark Salmon's penalty when Thomas Crawley had been taken down by defender Aidan Collins.

Midfielder Crawley then put Town in front four minutes before half-time.

A brilliant strike from Sean Brennan - his 12th of the season - levelled the scores four minutes into the second half.

And just when Longford thought they'd held out for a point, Ryan Brennan hit the winner in the fourth minute of added time.

Collins redeemed his error having given away the penalty by putting over a cross which Brennan shot past Alvin Rouse.

The win moves Monaghan back above Cork City into second place with a game in hand.
