Cork City  3   Limerick FC   3

Cork City's Davin O’Neill scored twice as these promotion-chasers had to settle for a point in a rollercoaster of a game at Turner’s Cross.

Attacking midfielder Paudie Quinn gave Limerick a 13th minute lead.

But Cork responded with a quick double from O’Neill and topscorer Graham Cummins, who scored for the fourth league game running, to jump into the lead within five minutes.

Limerick levelled seven minutes before the interval when central defender Brian McCarthy headed past Mark McNulty.

Denis Behan, who won a league and FAI Cup with Cork, then put Pat Scully’s Limerick in front with a header on 69 minutes.

But Cork hit back three minutes later when O’Neill, who scored their winner in the FAI Cup at Wexford last week, raced onto a through ball to fire past Barry Ryan.
