Wexford hold Cork to surprise draw
Friday, 12 August 2011 23:18
Cork City 2 Wexford Youths 2

Substitute Tom Elmes scored a dramatic stoppage time equaliser to burst promotion-chasing Cork City's recent bubble and end their five match winning run.
Elmes, just on the pitch, shot home a minute into added time to earn Youths an unlikely point at Turner's Cross.
Just three minutes earlier Cork thought they'd won it when Vincent Escude-Candau shot home a penalty after keeper Packie Holden had taken down Ian Turner.
Graham Cummins had given Cork a seventh minutes lead when heading home a Danny Murphy free-kick.
But struggling Youths, who'd lost ten of their previous eleven games, battled back into the match to level for the first time on 64 minutes.
Substitute Shane Dempsey put top scorer Danny Furlong in on goal to shoot past Mark McNulty for his eighth of the league season.

Paul Murphy hit a hat-trick as Blues crushed Athlone at the RSC  to earn their biggest win of the season.
Striker Murphy topped and tailed the win, opening the scoring after just two minutes when shooting past Michael Schlingermann from Paul Phelan's pass.
Murphy's third came on 82 minutes as he rifled a low drive to the net after Gary Dunphy touched a free kick into his path.
In-between, central defender David Breen headed Blues 2-0 up on 22 minutes.
Dunphy got the third of the night on 67 minutes after working a one-two with Phelan.
Adam McSherry then set up Murphy for his second of the night virtually from the kick off to make it 4-0.
Wayne Colbert pulled a goal back for Athlone on 75 minutes before Murphy completed his hat-trick eight minutes from time.
