Athlone Town 0 Monaghan United 3 RYAN BRENNAN scored twice as Monaghan returned to winning ways to move back up to second place in the First Division table.  Roddy Collins’ side struck for the opener on 21 minutes. Sean Brennan crossed, John Reilly helped it on with his head and Brennan shot past Michael Schlingermann.  Declan O’Brien, on his return from suspension, added the second six minutes into the second half when running onto a through ball, beating a defender and chipping the keeper for his sixth goal of the campaign.  Brennan sealed the points on 62 minutes when connecting with a cross from the right to volley to the net. |
