David Cassidy scored for the second match running - his sixth of the season - to move Shelbourne three points clear at the top of the First Division table.
The goal came on 70 minutes when midfielder Cassidy reacted quickest to fire home the rebound after a header from substitute Chris Mulhall came back off the Devon crossbar.
Shels fluffed the best opening of the first half after just five minutes. Barry Clancy put over an inviting cross, but skipper David McGill was wide with his diving header.
Devon came more into it as the half wore on and Ciprian Straut fired wide of Dean Delaney's goal on 22 minutes.
Shels remained the better side into the second half, though, and Philly Hughes missed a sitter just past the hour mark with a header from another Clancy cross. |
