Two goals in three minutes gave Longford a third successive win to move them back up to third place in the First Division table.
Tony Cousins' surprise packets have won six of their nine games to date and are level on points with Cork City whom they travel to meet at Turner’s Cross on Friday.
A dour encounter at Flancare Park finally sprung to life on 68 minutes when striker Don Cowan shot home his third goal of the season.
Central defender Des Hope added the second goal three minutes later. |
