KEITH GILLESPIE made his Longford Town debut in a 2-0 derby victory over Athlone Town at Flancare Park on Saturday night.

AUSTIN SKELLY upstaged former Northern Ireland international Keith Gillespie with a goal on his debut as Longford won the midlands derby at Flancare  Park.
Both Longford's goals came early on with midfielder Jacques Morley opening the scoring on four minutes when his corner eluded everyone in the box, including Athlone keeper Michael Schlingermann, to enter the net.
Tony Cousins' side doubled their lead eight minutes later. Schlingermann made a good save from Cathal Brady, but Skelly rifled home the rebound.
Gillespie came into the fray on 58 minutes for Skelly. His only impact came on 84 minutes when he put over an inviting cross that Mark Salmon just couldn't reach.

STEPHEN HENDERSON'S Blues made it two wins on the spin to get their promotion push up and running at Drom.
Paul Murphy set Waterford on the their way with a screaming 30 yard volley on 15 minutes.
Conor Sinnott added the second on 67 minutes, another effort from outside the box that gave Devon keeper Bernard Power little chance after deflecting off the referee.
