Athlone Town 1-5 Limerick
Saturday, 30 October 2010 22:03
Shane Clarke scored twice as Limerick finished their season with a flourish at Lisseywoollen.
Striker Clarke broke the deadlock a minute before half-time when he availed of a ricochet to curl a shot past keeper Michael Schlingermann.
Schlingermann was beaten again seven minutes into the second half when John Sullivan let fly form 25 yards.
Five minutes later Schlingermann could only parry Shane Tracy's shot and Garbhan Coughlan scooped home the rebound.
Clarke then got his second to make it 4-1 on 72 minutes.
Declan O'Brien pulled a goal back for Town a minute later, but Stephen McGann restored Limerick's four goal winning margin 13 minutes form time.
