A stoppage time winner from skipper Kevin Murray saw Waterford United twice come from behind to beat Athlone Town  3-2 at the RSC.

Blues now only need a draw at fourth-placed Shelbourne next week to guarantee a play-off spot.

Ryan McEvoy shot Town in front on six minutes after Blues failed to deal with Paddy Collins' cross.

Paul Murphy levelled four minutes later, shooting home from Liam Kearney's pass.

A mistake by Seamus Long gifted Andy Haran Town's second goal two minutes into the second half.

But Blues staged a dramatic late rally with Paul Walsh heading them level again on 84  minutes before Murray sealed an incredible win three minutes into added time.
