| Mervue United v Monaghan United |
| Friday, 22 October 2010 10:25 |
|
Monaghan United go into their penultimate match of the 2010 season looking to close the two point gap at the top of the First Division table. A win for Monaghan at Terryland Park on Saturday evening would raise the stakes for next week's crunch meeting between the top two sides in the division, when Monaghan host Derry City in the final league game of the season. Karl Bermingham will be absent for the visitors through injury, while Alan Byrne and Barry Clancy are both suspended. Mervue United can secure their place in the 2011 First Division if they win on Saturday. Mervue are currently four points ahead of bottom-placed Salthill Devon and a win over Monaghan United would see them mathematically secure their place in the First Division for next season. Eric Browne is suspended for the home side. |
