Monaghan United stay second in the First Division table on goal difference despite having midfielder Sean Brennan shown a straight red card for a foul on Shelbourne’s Sean Byrne after just three minutes as they lost 2-1 at Tolka Park. Byrne was taken off on a stretcher. David Cassidy got both Shels' goal, the opener when beating the offisde trap to lob Gabriel Sava on ten minutes. He doubled the lead on the half hour when again lobbing Sava from Michael Coburn's through ball. Monaghan got a goal back through Darragh Hanaphy 12 minutes from time. |
