Mick Cooke's Monaghan maintained their super form with a 4-0 rout of second bottom Mervue United to move back to second place in the table.
Mervue’s hopes were dashed on 32 minutes when keeper Ger Hanley was sent off for a challenge on Philly Hughes and Karl Bermingham added the further punishment of firing home the resultant penalty.
Midfielder Stephen McCrossan rowed in with a brace of goals inside ten minutes midway through the second half to end the game as a contest before Darragh Hanaphy added the fourth goal on 72 minutes.
