Graham Cummins hit a brace as Cork came from behind to maintain their unbeaten away record this season.

A solo goal from Pat Hoban gave Mervue a fifth minute lead as the midfielder started and finished a good move, collecting Rory Gaffney’s pass to shoot past City keeper Mark McNulty.

Cork were level on 22 minutes, though, when new signing Shane Barrett set up topscorer Cummins to side foot home.

Three minutes before the break, Cummins then returned the compliment when flicking the ball through for Barrett to take it round Ger Hanley and roll it home to score on his debut.

Davin O’Neill added a third goal on 52 minutes, shooting home Neal Horgan’s right wing cross.

Cummins got his second, and 10th of the season, on 82 minute to complete the rout.

David Godlbey got a second consolation goal for Mervue a minute from time.
