Improving Limerick moved up to third with a 2-1 win over Cork City at Turner’s Cross. Pat Scully’s side punished slack marking at a corner to take a tenth minute lead. Skipper Pat Purcell’s header brought mayhem to the Cork box and Nigel Stanley fired home. But Cork were level inside five minutes when defender John Boyle turned a Billy Woods cross into his own net. Shane Tracy won it for Limerick on 53 minutes, though, firing home following John Tierney’s super run and cross down the right wing. |
