Longford frustrated Derry at the Brandywell to reduce their lead at the top of the table to five points.

Derry dominated the first half, though without really hurting the Town defence.

James McLean and Mark Farren wasted chances early in the second half, before Town keeper Aaron Shanahan made the save of the night to deprive Thomas McBride as Tony Cousins' midlanders held out for a point.
