Nicky Curran's goal six minutes from time earned Mervue their second win in three games.
Curran struck to shoot home in a crowded penalty area after Mike Tierney had flicked on Rory Gaffney's long throw. Robbie Farrell came close to levelling three minutes into stoppage time, but his header was cleared off the line by Kenny Farrell. But second-bottom Mervue deserved their win, only their second of the season, as they too had a Tierney effort cleared off the line by Mark Nolan in the first half while Tommy Walsh struck a post with a 72nd minute free kick. |
