Limerick stunned Athlone with two stoppage times goals to earn a fourth win in five games as Pat Scully's side moved up to fourth in the table.
Athlone took the lead two minutes before half-time when Stephen Place stabbed home from close range after Robbie Benson crossed from the right. A back post header from Declan Cahill, from a Martin Deady corner, had limerick level two minutes after the interval. The real drama then arrived in added time when Limerick took the lead on 91 minutes when Jeffrey Judge headed home a Deady free-kick. Limerick had time to add a third goal on 94 minutes, a superb individual effort from Daryl Kavanagh. |
