Bottom of the table Mervue ended in-form Monaghan's four match winning run by holding them to a draw at Terryland Park.

Mervue stunned Monaghan to take a third minute lead when visiting skipper Aidan Lynch put through his own goal following a defensive mix up.

The Galway side had midfielder Enda Curran sent off on 63 minutes, but looked to be holding out until Aidan Collins levelled for Monaghan seven minutes from time.
