John Lester hit a penalty winner as Longford came from a goal down with ten men to knock leaders Waterford off the top of the table.

George O'Callaghan scored his first goal for Blues to put them in front on 47 minutes when heading home a Liam Kearney cross.

It appeared to have got better for Blues when Town had midfielder Craig Mooney sent off on 58 minutes for a foul on Gary Dunphy, his second booking.

But Town levelled five minutes later when defender John Kearney failed to cut out a cross and David Freeman shot past Chris Konopka.

Within a further five minutes Town got their winner.

Konopka's throw out to Kearney fell short and the defender pulled down Fiachra McArdle. Lester drove home to penalty.
