Sean Brennan scored a hat-trick as Monaghan trounced bottom side Salthill at Drom in a record league win for the club. Striker Brennan scored twice inside 60 seconds early on, rifling home his first on 11 minutes from a free-kick. Barry Clancy made it 3-0 on the half hour before Brennan completed his hat trick seven minutes into the second half when firing home at the back post from Cathal O’Connor’s cross. Karl Bemringham added a fifth from a 66th minute penalty. Devon got a goal back two minutes later when Mikey Gilmore raced through onto a long ball to shoot past Gabriel Sava. Bermingham added his second, and Monaghan’s sixth, three minutes from time. |
