Waterford stretched their lead at the top of the table to five points as they maintained their 100% start to the season with a sixth win of the campaign. Blues had the perfect start with the lead after just four minutes. Timmy Purcell retrieved Liam Kearney’s over hit cross to pull the ball back on the left for Willy John Kiely to tap home from eight yards. Limerick drew level on 52 minutes when Blues failed to clear the ball and John Tierney headed past Kevin Burns for his fourth goal of the season. But Blues won it on 82 minutes when assistant referee Kevin O’Regan gave them a penalty after Peter White pulled down David Grincell and Alan Carey fired home from the spot. |
