Limerick’s four-match unbeaten run came crashing to an end at Ferrycarrig Park as they had two players send off in this eight goal thriller.

Jimmy Keohane put Youths in front from Gary Sheahan's cross on 19 minutes with Shane Dempsey doubling that ten minutes later from a penalty after Sean Kelly had pulled down Sheahan.

Limerick skipper Pat Purcell pulled a goal back when stabbing home two minutes later.

But Dempsey restored Youths' two goal lead on 35 minutes when latching onto a loose ball to fire past Dave Ryan.

Dean Broaders then added a fourth Youths' goal five minutes before the break.

Stephen O’Flynn got a second goal back for Limerick three minutes into the second half before their hopes took a major dent when defender Peter White was sent off for chopping down ex-Limeirck striker Sheahan on 74 minutes.

O’Flynn gave Limerick hope with his second of the night to make it 4-3 in the first minute of stoppage time.

But within a minute Limerick defender Jeffrey Judge was dismissed before Sheahan added Youths’ fifth goal in the fourth minute of added time.
