Philly Hughes' fifth goal in four games moved in-form Monaghan up to second in the First Division table as Cork's unbeaten away record came to an end.

The only goal of the game arrived on 31 minutes when Cathal O'Connor and Sean Brennan combined to set up Hughes to shoot past Mark McNulty as Mick Cooke's side stretched their unbeaten run to seven games.
