Vinny Sullivan’s third goal of the season sent Waterford four points clear at the top of the table as they had Liam Kearney sent off at Drom.

Stephen Henderson’s side maintained their 100% start to the campaign, and kept a fourth clean sheet, as Devon slump to a fourth defeat, still awaiting their first goal in the Airtricity League.

Defender Kevin Murray struck the Devon crossbar after ten minutes before Blues pressure told five minutes before half-time.

Sullivan met Timmy Purcell’s cross to touch the ball past home keeper Ronan Forde.

Blues were furious when winger Kearney, their match winner last week, was dismissed by for a second booking on 82 minutes. Referee Padraig Sutton felt Kearney dived as he fell after jumping over a challenge by James Whelan.
