Mervue twice came from behind to get their first home win of the season and their first back to back victories of the campaign.

Mervue defender Ger McGrath scored at both ends, gifting Longford the lead when putting through his own goal after just five minutes.

McGrath levelled on the hour mark. But Town, striving to end three successive league defeats regained the lead through Carmine Russo on 71 minutes.

Eric Browne equalised for Mervue six minutes later with David Goldbey snatching the winner ten minutes from time.
