Eamon Zayed’s fifth goal of the season saw Sporting Fingal record a fifth win on the spin as they inflicted a second defeat in a row on Shelbourne in the big First Division clash at Morton Stadium.

The win moves Sporting above Shels into second place and to within two points of leaders UCD who were shocked 1-0 at home by Wexford Youths.

Alan Kirby set up Zayed to shoot home for the game's only goal six minutes before the interval.

Sporting generally looked comfortable with Shels best effort coming from defender Kevin Doherty late on.
