League newcomers Mervue United got their second win of the season, inflicting another heavy defeat on bottom side Kildare County, the team they beat in the promotion/relegation play-off last season.

Mervue were 2-0 up at the break with a strikes from Damien O’Rourke on 26 minutes and an own goal by Daithi Garry three minutes before the interval.

David O’Dowd sealed the win with Mervue’s third goal on 75 minutes.
